Our Impact.

Our WtE projects divert waste from landfill and recover energy and other products in the most efficient, safest and commercially viable way possible.

In doing so, we help private and public organisations meet a number of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

The Benefits of WtE

Zero waste.

In addition to recovering energy, WtE projects produce valuable by-products which can be sold, further enhancing the long-term project economics. These by-products vary according to the technology platform and feedstocks used, but can include construction aggregate, ferrous and non-ferrous metals, fertiliser and livestock feed. Clean water, an increasingly scarce resource, can also be extracted.

Economics.

Our WtE projects can significantly reduce the cost of waste disposal and energy generation for businesses and local communities while delivering strong returns for investors. Moreover, waste collection and plant management, operation and maintenance creates new employment opportunities. Cheap energy stimulates local communities with the potential to create exciting new industries while reinvigorating existing ones.

Security.

With a contractually guaranteed supply of waste feedstock, our WtE projects offer unparalleled security over the supply and cost of energy, mitigating the effects of blackouts and energy market fluctuations. These situations can substantially compromise the viability of businesses and service providers such as hospitals, retail malls and supermarkets, amongst many others.

Environment.

Our WtE projects not only maximise clean energy generation, but reduce the environmental impact of other forms of waste management. This includes air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions from decomposition, and water contamination and soil degradation from leaching.

People.

Cheap, abundant energy transforms local communities. It provides access to information and communication technologies, lighting and sanitation. It can empower individuals in regional and urban areas and improve the provision of education. Reducing waste can also remove hotspots for disease and contagions harmful to human health.
